The Sabbath and Still Partying....

I say it again another sign of a good party...people wearing helmets....

Hear ye, hear ye...Ross's 1st Fish!

Ross caught his 1st fish today with the help of my fantastic cousin JP! He caught a Small Mouth Bass at the end of the dock and needless to say he was Ecstatic! See below....and a BIG thanks to JP for taking him out for his first fishing expedition!!!!

It's all fun and games....

...until someone puts Grandma's swimsuit on. Some people might think it's a bad thing, I would say it is a sign of a good party. To be continued...

If you can't run, bike...Or not!!

Since my body rejected running last week, I decided to take Jack for a bike ride and once again I lost my Mom of the Year crown. The bike ride was going well, until I tried switching gears going up hill and the chain wouldn't catch and....we fell over. Me, bike, and Jack flat on the ground. It was bad...Jack was perfectly fine with the exception of being shook up. He was in a seat on the back of my bike, helmet on and securely buckled in. Me...I didn't fair so well, ROAD RASH on the arm and leg. I know you are all dying to ask, "Did she have her new helmet on???". No. So we continued on with our bike ride and then once I was home it was Neosporin to the rescue and of course my body hurt all over again! Damn it!

Grandma has now left the building..back to the lake. Our house will no longer be as clean as it was when she was here, the laundry will pile up again, the kids won't be as well behaved...why won't she just move in? I mean really, Farmington is nice, it's no house on Mille Lacs with a beautiful view, but we need her!!! We are actually heading up to her house for the long weekend (if she won't move in, we will follow) for some R&R and so the guys can put the dock in.

I am hoping to post some pictures from yesterday as it was Ross's last day of school and they invited the parents to their Track & Field Day as well as an Ice Cream Social. It was so dang CUTE! The hurdles were so small and they were determined to make it over. Although I was a little sad to think he has completed his 1st year of preschool, I just wish I could slow time, even if a little. They definitely grow way too fast.

One last thought, that has perplexed me for years....as I was driving I noticed yet another Motorcyclist riding with their helmet strapped to the back of their bike. What the hell is up with that???? Why have a helmet at all? Why on the back of the bike?? Someone please enlighten me, because frankly it looks freakin ridiculous.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Weekend and I will try and get a post with pictures in over the weekend.

Birthday Business

Well I would say I am way overdue for a post but that would be an understatement! So let me recap what has transpired since last Thursday...

Needless to say it took more than a couple days to recover from my "Run" last Wednesday night and I am sure you are all surprised to know I haven't attempted to run since. I was elated to be home Thursday night and see all my guys and was giddy just thinking about my impending birthday (childish yes...but that's me).

So onto the real info...how did the BIG 3-0 go? FANTASTICO!!!!! I woke up Friday morning to a card and jewelry box left on my bedside by the Mr. The card was so sweet and the jewelery box....lets just say he picked up on my hints and THE pearl ring was inside. From there I was greeted in bed by 2 singing Monkeys otherwise known as Ross & Jack. They sang a "perfect" duet of Happy Birthday Mommy. Absolutely priceless! I then sent the boys off to a fun day with Uncle Ben & Aunt Tiffany so that I could enjoy lunch and cocktails on the patio with my Mom and Grandma and then it was off to a day at the Spa.....which by the way was PHENOMENAL!!! I started out with an hour and half long deluxe facial and then finished with an hour long massage. Seriously heaven on earth! After the fantastic day at the spa, my parents hosted a fabulous dinner party and between my folks and my Grandma the food was wonderful! At the end of the day of pampering, good family, good friends, good food, and good WINE (hello like that wouldn't be part of the night) I found myself "pausing" (aka passing out) on my folks couch and was woke up to Jack's sweet voice at 6:30 the next morning. :) A positively perfect way to ring in my 30's.

Part of me feels a little weird that I have now entered my 30's...but if my 30's are even half as good as my 20's I will consider myself pretty damn lucky!

So after all the hoopla of Friday, Saturday brought a low key day of R&R...NOT! Try me maybe slightly hungover watching not only my boys, but my two nieces as well. After a few gallons of water and a trip to Dairy Queen I was on the mend. I actually took the kids on quite the long walk, we decided to walk to Mark & Catherine's new house...apparently the distance didn't seem so far when driving, but walking, Yikes! I figured after the long journey the kids were definitely deserving of a trip to DQ. After that I dropped the girls off and the boys and I went back home to get ready for bed....and by 8:30 Saturday night Ross, Jack and I were sound asleep. Quite the difference from the night before.

Sunday was spent celebrating my cousin Christina's Confirmation and was able to snap some cute pics that I will post below.

To my eager followers (I hope there are some out there) I promise to not take so long to post again, I know how much you enjoy my insanity. :)

Loser...

I'm a loser baby...so why don't you post yet??? I know I promised yesterday but I trained all day and then took the trainees out to Chino Latino and DAMN I was tired! So yes, I will post the BIG Birthday post tonight, but must spend the day spreading my knowledge to the eager beavers in the classroom.

Training...will post tonight!

Wow!! I am bad I need to post, so much to say. Will make sure to post tonight. :)

I ran therefore I hurt.

"Run, Jenny, Run" as Forest Gump might say.....so I ran last night and now I hurt. A lot. The End.

What the HELL was I thinking???? I haven't run since someone told me that Dairy Queen was giving away free blizzards and that was only running from my car to the front door. I say it again, what the hell was I thinking?? I am old, my muscles are old, I have old lungs, and if I didn't mention it before I hurt. Me thinking next time on treadmill, take it a little slower as to not totally throw my body out of whack. Has anyone seen my Ben gay????

Called the house last night, the Mr sounds better, apparently Grandma's TLC is working. Talked to the short people of the house. Ross was interested in talking to me only if I had a gift to bring him, but started the conversation with "Are you my Mom?", must find out what the Mr is telling him when I travel. I also got to talk to the smallest of the short people, who had a lot to say but most of it sounded like "Moo Gai Pan" and I think I heard "Egg Roll" somewhere in there too.

Coming home tonight and can't wait....tomorrow is the big day and I am about as giddy as a 5 year old, with the exception of my old body. :)

The Lonesome Loser & Anticipation

Cue music...."Don't Bring Me Down" by ELO circa 1979....backdrop bar at Chammps in City Centre downtown Indianapolis....me playing lonely traveler waiting for takeout to go back to my room and read a book and watch my newest favorite show Dancing with the Stars. Then I look around and notice that I am surrounded by lonesome losers and it looks like we are at a Blackberry Convention battling it out in a thumb war on these ridiculous pieces of technology.

I know sounds depressing, but you did laugh didn't you?

Having some wild dreams lately (probably because I can't sleep when I travel AT ALL, it sucks), anyways crazy dreams about the upcoming birth of my niece. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Got in a conversation with my staff in Indy about their various birth stories, someone said something about a loud moan that made their brother not only run out the room, but out the building, into his car, and out of the parking lot. Yikes! Maybe I should bring ear plugs? No wait that would DEFINITELY piss Stacy off and that is not what I want to do (or Lance for the matter, meaning don't piss your wife off in labor if you are reading this).

Missing my boys and the Mr, who by the way thinks he is dying from some illness (checked WebMD, it's a cold). Although well enough to play 2 softball games last night, must be because Grandma is staying with them and Grandma makes everything better. Till next time....

The Helmet Vs The Ring

I am sitting in my hotel room missing my boys and the Mr, watching a little Dancing With the Stars while sipping on Cabernet. Had a great weekend at the lake, the boys definitely got some much needed outside play time. Only bad part was that Jack ended up sleeping with Brian and I on Saturday which meant NO REST for the weary. Literally the kid was up all night long tossing and turning and actually woke up at 4 AM just cause he was ready to play. So needless to say I was quite the tired Mommy on Sunday.

Which brings us to Mother's Day....the weather was great, the guys made breakfast, the boys were well behaved (well as good as a 4 & 1 year old can be), an all round nice day. Now before I go into the rest of my story, I am not angry, mad, unappreciative or anything of the sort. However I would like to let everyone in on my Mother's Day gift, which albeit nice was somewhat different or shall I say different than what I thought might be coming my way. See I had been hinting that I really wanted a set of pearls (necklace, earrings, ring), especially the ring part. I have been swooning over a set of pearls for the last year or so....however the Mr had something else in mind....see picture:

I know many of you women are swooning over the helmet, I mean it is aero dynamic and makes me think I just might look like the sexy Tour De France contender that he thinks I am (wait do they even allow women to compete in that, whatever, anyways). But see I have a helmet already that I thought would still protect my precious melon, but hey a girl can always use a new accessory. So I still have hope that for my BIG 30th birthday this FRIDAY (just in case you are still needing some ideas dear) this might be the icing on the cake.....

On the road again....

I promise to write later, arrived home way too late last night and had an early flight to Indianapolis this morning.....ahh the joys of work!

Happy Mom's Day!

An early "Happy Mother's Day" to all the Moms out there. I shall take this time to reflect on what Motherhood has meant to me. How I do love my boys more than anything in the world (even more than vino) and how they have taught me what being a Mom really means.

It means that you will still will want to get pregnant a second time even if the first time you looked eerily similar to Shamu's second cousin, it means that after zero sleep and dealing with a colicky baby you will still think that your baby is the most precious thing in the world (could be that your delusional, but whatever), and it means that no matter how wonderful or how seemingly naughty they are being I wouldn't pick any other boys than mine. I love them to the moon and back and Ross has promised me that when he is 15 I can still kiss him at the bus stop (I have it on tape just in case he tries to get out of it). So here's to the last 4 years of Motherhood what a wonderful, wild ride it has been and can't wait to see what is to come.

So enough of the sappy crap, just heard my Mom ask my Aunt (her sister Lori), "How do you spell Bacardi?" and she said "R-U-M". Should I be concerned or proud, DEFINITELY proud. She may not be able to spell, but the woman can hold 6 glasses of beer in her cleavage and to me that is what makes a real woman, no wonder she is my Godmother.

I thought I would close with a couple pics of the munchkins who make tomorrow the special day that it is.

Stevie & Ozzy, Pants, & Oscar

Delayed post, I know, but should be good...well how about decent.

Been thinking about hosting a casting call in search of the next member of the "Real Guitar Heroes" band....I mean really there is the possibility that I could have birthed the next Vaughn Brothers, Hansen, or NKOTB! Let's hope for the first, well maybe the next drug free Vaughn Brothers. Check it out for yourself below....Ross definitely into solos, channeling his inner Stevie Ray Vaughn....Jack channeling his inner Ozzy?

Onto next subject, was spreading good will and joy to nurses across the land, because as I am sure you all know it is National Nurse Week (so don't forget to be nice to the nurse that is about to prod you). During my travels I visited many of the nurses who work for me and was fortunate enough to find myself in the freakin ghetto of St Paul, where a woman no shit was standing in her front yard with just a scrub top on. Good god, someone get her a thigh master and someone get me a drink.

Last but not least thought of the day....was talking to my coworker Jerry who went on to tell me that he "cooks" a meal for his freakin dog, Oscar. People, we are talking special ground meat from the butcher, fresh vegtables, and some other crap I can't remember. Really, for a freakin dog? This of course was after I told him that I had gone as far as baking chicken nuggets for my kids AND pouring them a glass of milk....and I wonder why my kids cry when they leave their Grandma & Grandpa's house. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised if I see them hanging out at Pet Smart or the Humane Society looking for a family that might just make them a decent meal.

SAHD, Mexico, & Mom of the Year

Apparently Brian's day of working from home today with the kids went about as well as mine on Monday. I think Jack's face says it best...."It's my work day and I'll cry if I want to." I have also found that Brian appears to be in some kind of nesting mode, he has been cleaning the garage all week...I am hoping this continues once he gets in the house.

You may have noticed that Zoro has left the blog or otherwise known as Brian's picture. Like I said he has possession of some unfortunate adolescent pictures of me, including one where I thought an itsy bitsy teenie weenie pink polk a dot bikini was a good idea....and it wasn't.

Was thinking that I can't believe it has already been a month since Brian and I were blissfully buzzed from Mexican cocktails, kid free, and burning our butt white skin in Cancun. We definitely need to do that again and soon.....

Last but not least I had to turn over my crown for being "Mom of the Year" as I got home decided to lay on the couch and take a quick snooze and missed Ross's entire swimming lesson. Good god we have 1 activity to attend a week and I missed it, at least Brian is on the ball, definitely a contender for "Dad of the Year."

Day 2

So I missed posting on Day 2 because I was at girl's night with members of the "Defunct Cooking Club" and the ever famous "Mrs. Huxtable" (granted she is white and I don't think she has a son named Theo, but she is an Esquire & her husband is a Doctor so it all works). We went to the Chianti Grill and needless to say I did not have a repeat of last Thursday (thank god because my liver is still going through detox). Somehow Carey got out of doing shots that she promised, I believe Mary said that it was a binding contract so she has to do them next time or I am going sue.

In other news I attended my cousin Michael's deployment ceremony, that was depressing. So sad to see all these families being separated, I did however tell him to avoid bringing home a wife if her only purpose was to get a Visa in the US. I think he will appreciate that statement later or not.

Also noteworthy is the newest member to "The Family" aka the Bruneau Bunch arrived last Friday, Matthew John Hendrickson was born to my other Cousin Michael (not Darryl) and his fiance Shanna. He is adorable as all can be and I can't wait to hold him again and no it does not make me want to have another. Below is a picture of the little guy, quite the handsome dude. That's all for now, probably will post later since the Mr hates his picture, I think its funny, but I don't need him posting bad pictures of me (the adolescent years produced some unfortunate pictures of me).

Part 2 of Day 1

Ahhhh...I feel like one of the "cool" kids now, I may not have an I Phone but damn it I have a blog.

Spent the majority of the day trying to work at home with kids. That my friends is not an easy feat and for those who say it is are probably not really working. But I did manage some play time with the kiddos, went to the park to burn off some major cabin fever they have been feeling. It was nice, I sat on my blackberry and listened to a conference call while the other Mom's sent me evil stares for apparently not taking the time to just be with my kids. Problem is I probably would have thought the same thing (I hate it when that happens).

Also note worthy of my first day of blogging is that I am down 8 pounds since starting South B*tch, I mean South Beach a week ago. It's been great, really. Other than that, I thought I would throw some pictures of our day today. I have to say, even though I am biased, they are so dang cute.

I did it!

Day one of the rest of my blogging life. I finally did it, finally started the process of spewing my nonsense on the world wide web. Although against Brian's better judgement, as he thinks blogging will take the place of "Honey, I have a headache"....I promise sweetie I will still save that one just for you. :)

Will start the real writing later...but short, blond haired boy is asking for regular milk and chocolate milk.
